Accepted teams are expected to attend the InventiveLabs accelerator program (described below) in Amesbury, MA. The team from InventiveLabs has significant experience in working with entrepreneurs that have learning differences and can help teams reach their maximum potential during this intensive 3 month program. InventiveLabs sees this as a lifelong engagement with each team and as such earns a small equity stake in each team's business.
InventiveLabs is actively seeking additional sponsors. Click the button under the sponsor's listing if you would like to be a sponsor or know somebody who would like to help.
To be eligible, teams must have at least one primary member that self identifies as being ADHD, dyslexic, autistic or some form of learning difference. Applicants are selected based on their business idea, team member’s skills and background, and the team’s ability to execute. We also consider whether InventiveLabs can have an impact on their success and growth as part of the selection process.
Teams should preferably have some initial revenue, but annual revenue should be less than $500,000.
If you don't meet these guidelines, please speak to us about your situation and we can let you know whether the judging panel will accept your application.
International candidates need to check with their local immigration office (or likely the US consulate in your country) to make sure you are eligible to participate in a program like this.
TIMING & DEADLINES:

The Accelerator Program runs for three months prior to the actual prize competition. The program covers topics including:
- our twist on lean start-up principles
- business model canvas
- financial modeling and forecasting
- presentation skills
Additionally, we will bring in multiple guest speakers who conduct seminars on business-related topics of interest to the group. Participants are expected to have at least one team member full-time at the Lab during the workweek. The Lab is open 24/7.
Mentors will have a weekly scrum meeting with each team to plan and coordinate weekly activities and be available throughout the week for one-on-one consultation. This is very different from most accelerators/pitch competitions. If you are accepted into the program you have DAILY access to business people with real-world experience to take your idea to the next level. We roll-up our sleeves and teach you what you need to know to start or grow your business.
We will send you a brief application to fill-out to start the process. If we like your idea and want to learn more we will reach out to contact you to set up either an in-person meeting or Video Conference to explore the idea further.
